Are you as tired as I am of receiving another of those Christmas cards that reads something like this……My eldest son just completed his NASA quantum physics degree with honours….now he’s going to head a mission to Mars. My three daughters have run the Boston Marathon this year and placed first, second and third….Can you believe it?. My parents just found an awesome little retreat up in the Hamptons…only 7600 square feet or so. And of course Rover just won the National dog show for the seventh year in a row!
I’m sure you get the drift of it. Anyway, our history section of this site is not going to be like that. At the 9J we tend to be a little more down to earth. In a previous life Steve and I ran a family farm with his parents which evolved over the years into a nice little cattle operation. Hence the name of our shop…The 9J Antiques and Western Emporium. Half Moon 9J was our cattle brand. (We thought we should stick with something we could remember..after all we’re not getting any younger)
After 25 years of life on our farm we decided it was time for an adventure so off to the Maritimes we went and the 9J was born. And truthfully it was a lot like having a new calf. Months of planning, renovations, decisions and lots of hard work came together when the doors of our business opened.
Well, that was four years ago and so far so good! It still takes the whole family to get all the jobs done every week, we are still learning new things from our customers and friends every day, we are still amazed at the variety of things people save over the years and most importantly we are still having fun!
We enjoy living here in New Brunswick, the people are genuine, the scenery is second to none, living on a lake is about as good as it gets and if you have to work, running the 9J is a great job! Ooops! I’m sounding like that Christmas card!
